I often play at this family-owned vineyard. The architecture combines sharp modern angles with heritage sandstone walls, providing a solid backdrop for a reception. Since the room is an intimate space, I focus on a setup that fills the room with sound without taking over too much of the floor. I use the angled ceiling and walls to reflect the lighting and change the look of the room when the dancing starts. It fits the high-end feel of the estate while still feeling like a proper party.
ValleyField - New Norfolk:
This heritage-listed site dates back to the 1830s and features a beautiful garden by the Derwent River. The coach house has high ceilings and an elevated mezzanine for the DJ booth. It is a unique layout. I use the height of the mezzanine to project both sound and lighting across the painted sandstone interior. This creates a great look and sound that suits the character of the building perfectly.
Peppermint Bay:
Seaside weddings at this iconic venue often begin with guests arriving via the Peppermint Bay II catamaran from Hobart. Because of the high ceilings and deep dining area, I use strategic speaker placement and digital time-alignment. This ensures crystal-clear audio for the speeches and a punchy sound for the dance floor. Every guest gets the same high-quality experience from the first toast to the final song.
Glen Albyn Estate:
The Pool Room at Glen Albyn Estate has a sleek, modern aesthetic that is perfect for a coordinated light show. I use wireless ambient uplighting to complement the room’s design through dinner service and shift the mood instantly as the party starts. While the ceremony and canapes usually happen on the Riverview Deck, the reception is based in the Pool Room. I focus on a setup that sounds great and fits the premium look of the venue.
