The right lighting changes the entire feel of a wedding reception. Based in Lower Longley, I provide professional lighting setups for venues across Hobart, Launceston, and the East Coast. I offer these setups exclusively in conjunction with my live music or DJ services. This ensures the visuals and audio work together as one cohesive system. Wireless Uplighting

I use wireless, battery-powered uplights to highlight the architectural features of your venue. Because they are wireless, there are no messy cables running across the floor or taping down to the carpet. These lights can be set to a refined, warm white for a classic look during your meal. They can also be adjusted to match your specific wedding colour theme. It is a simple way to add depth to a room without the setup looking like a science experiment in the corner.

Moving Wash Heads

When the party starts, the lighting needs to shift. I use intelligent moving wash heads that provide a wide, smooth coverage of colour across the dance floor. These aren't just "spinning disco lights." They are programmed to match the tempo and mood of the music. Whether it is a slow dance or a high-energy anthem, the visuals stay in sync with the track. It creates an immersive party vibe that encourages guests to stay on the floor until the final call for the night.

Intelligent Control & Seamless Transitions

I manage the entire rig using an intelligent lighting controller from Maestro DMX. This device creates a lightshow in real time based on the audio that I send through it, along with the ability to trigger pre-determined lighting cues, colour pallettes and effects. This allows me to change the atmosphere of the room instantly from my booth. I can dim the ambient lighting and trigger a coordinated light show the second your first dance ends. There is no requirement for a decicated lighting technician. I make sure the lighting evolves with the evening, staying subtle during the speeches and becoming dynamic once the celebration kicks off.

Booking & Requirements

I provide lighting exclusively as an addition to my live music and DJ packages. I do not offer lighting as a standalone rental service. This is because I personally program and manage the lighting throughout the night to ensure it stays in sync with my performance. Whether you book a solo acoustic set or a full DJ reception, this service can be added to your package to elevate the look of your venue.
